Maribeth Jorgensen, PhD, LMHC
I am a licensed (LMHC) and board certified counselor (NCC) and have approximately thirteen years of experience as a clinician. My approach to counseling is centered on developing trust and showing unconditional positive regard for my clients in order to build a strong therapeutic relationship. I value the culture of my clients and how various cultural identities intersect with the presenting concern and the counselor-client relationship. I practice both cognitive behavioral and narrative therapies. I identify as a practitioner-researcher and uses research to guide my clinical work. I discuss research with my clients and ways to infuse that information to promote and monitor their desired changes. I work with clients across the lifespan and have experience with presenting concerns related to anxiety, depression, relationships, life transitions, grief and loss, and sport and performance.
